Pregnancy and After Childbirth Support

Pregnancy and After Childbirth Support

Antenatal and postnatal support is very important for all women, especially young women who are going through pregnancy and childbirth. These are very sensitive stages, particularly for first-time mothers, especially young women or girls who conceive at an early age.

Women and girls of colour often find it difficult to access the right support and may have many fears in their minds about services and how they will be treated or engaged with. Living in a new country, surrounded by unfamiliar people, and in many cases without family support especially in situations involving violence or abuse makes their circumstances extremely challenging and often leads to full reliance on organisations like ours.

Many women and girls experience high levels of stress, anxiety, and depression due to various factors. It can be difficult for them to understand the changes in their bodies and emotions, and they often need continuous reassurance, guidance, and emotional support.

Our support is unconditional. We provide a wide range of support tailored to their needs, from pregnancy through to when the child starts school. We understand how important it is for women and girls to become mothers and to care for their children with the right resources, knowledge, and support available to them.

We work in partnership with the Doula Project, CHCP, and the NHS to ensure women and their children receive appropriate and timely support. Doula and breastfeeding support services hold regular sessions at our centre, offering help with baby weighing, baby massage, and access to midwifery support.

Please feel free to visit the centre or simply send us a message—we are here to support you.
