Gaining NOCN centre approval marks a significant milestone in our educational mission. It enables us to deliver accredited qualifications directly within our women-only sanctuary, removing the intimidation and barriers that many service users encounter in conventional academic institutions.
Our current curriculum focuses on high-impact foundation subjects tailored specifically to women learning English as a second language and those seeking employment:
- Accredited ESOL & Functional Skills: Providing tiered English courses alongside practical life-skills training, helping women gain fluency, communicate with public services, and build independent everyday agency.
- Digital Literacy & Employability: Practical workshops covering device use, internet navigation, and CV writing, which have successfully guided dozens of women into formal employment.
- Emerging Mental Health Delivery: Hull Sisters is actively advancing through the approval process to deliver formal mental health qualifications, with a specialised focus on culturally appropriate care for women from the global majority.
